• Federal Trade Commission Clears Google's Acquisition of DoubleClick (December 20, 2007) Google Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) today welcomed the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's clearance of its planned acquisition of DoubleClick Inc., a premier provider of display ad serving technology and services. Google announced in April 2007 a definitive agreement to acquire the company for $3.1 billion in cash from San Francisco-based private equity firm Hellman & Friedman along with JMI Equity and management.

• Opera files antitrust complaint with the EU (December 13, 2007) Opera Opera Software ASA, the only company that can put the Web on any device, filed a complaint with the European Commission yesterday which is aimed at giving consumers a genuine choice of Web browsers.

• Google Announces Launch of Google Toolbar 5 (December 12, 2007) Google Today Google announced the latest version of Google Toolbar for Internet Explorer. The beta version is now available in US-English at http://toolbar.google.com/T5. Google Toolbar makes browsing the Internet simpler and more efficient with integrated Google search and other web tools.

• Symantec Announces New Mac OS X Leopard-Compatible Norton AntiVirus (December 10, 2007) Symantec Symantec Corp. (Nasdaq: SYMC) today announced the new Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard-compatible version of Norton AntiVirus, featuring new vulnerability protection technology, which delivers protection where many of today's attacks occur ¿ through applications connected to the Internet.

• Microsoft Statement on Expanding Support for Low Cost Flash Based Computing Devices (December 05, 2007) Microsoft As part of Microsoft Corp.'s Unlimited Potential effort to bring the benefits of technology to the next 5 billion people by transforming education, fostering local innovation, and enabling jobs and opportunity, Microsoft today announced plans to further expand flash-based Windows XP support for low-cost hardware computing devices.

• ADERANT Releases Practice Management Software (October 31, 2007) Aderant ADERANT, a global provider of business and financial management software for law firms, today announced the general availability of ADERANT Expert Release 7.5. The latest version includes new functionality for global financial and statutory reporting, credit notes, and ebilling support as well as a Microsoft Vista-inspired user interface.
