AAfPE and Abacus Make It Easy for Paralegal Schools to Deliver Technology Instruction

The American Association for Paralegal Education and Abacus Data Systems announced they have begun partnering to provide law firm software and training support to member schools. The arrangement was crafted as a result of a philosophical shift among major bar associations across the United States. These organizations now expect paralegal graduates to arrive for their first day of employment having already received hands-on training with practice management software.
Details of the offer to paralegal educators were announced to a highly receptive audience at the AAfPE's national meeting in New Orleans. AAfPE Technology Task Force Chair Thomas Goldman describes the partnership as an easy, affordable and straight-forward way for schools to get and deliver technology training to their students. "Our members are excited that Abacus provides software for faculty and students, as well as training for our instructors. AbacusLaw is used by thousands of law firms. Educational staffs are eager to help their students prepare to be immediate contributors upon graduation."
Abacus President Judd Kessler explained his company's commitment. "Our software is already taught in well over a hundred educational institutions. Working with the AAfPE leadership, we've expanded our education offering to include additional training materials and personalized support for the instructors themselves. This will be a great benefit to AAfPE members."
