HOUSTON, September 19, 2006 - DataCert, Inc., the leading provider of electronic invoicing and legal spend management solutions, today introduced new enhancements to Guide including the ability to prototype and deliver rules in a faster and more efficient manner. Guide, a powerful business rules engine, automates the enforcement of corporate law department billing guidelines for legal electronic invoicing. With Guide, the tedious and time-consuming task of manually validating thousands of line items on legal invoices is eliminated.

The Power to Enforce Billing Guidelines

Guide gives companies the ability to create powerful, client-specific rules that match the manual invoice review processes already in place. Working in conjunction with DataCert's Advanced Invoice Management System (AIMS) version 3.8, Guide can automate invoice-related tasks such as enforcing time keeper rates, applying bulk discounts and approving low-dollar invoices from authorized law firms and vendors. Guide also warns law department personnel about invoices that may potentially violate billing guidelines such as duplicate invoices and invoices attached to over-budget matters.

This rules engine translates into a time-saving tool for law department personnel. By identifying noncompliant invoice items and charges and automatically adjusting them, Guide gives employees the opportunity to focus on more important assignments.

"Customers are demanding tools that automate the most tedious parts of invoice adjustment," commented Paul Zengilowski, Director of Product Marketing, DataCert, Inc. "Guide delivers this with its unique ability to model complex logic for reviewing and adjusting invoices. Employees' time - always a commodity - can now be transferred to tasks that bring more value to the department."

Guide's new enhancements also contribute to a quicker implementation of AIMS. DataCert can deliver on billing guideline requirements accurately, reliably and in a time-sensitive manner, allowing law departments to enjoy the benefits of their legal spend management technology within an abbreviated time frame.

Customization

Guide provides unmatched flexibility by offering invoice adjustment capabilities that extend beyond "out of the box" solutions. A law department's adjustment process does not have to change to meet the capabilities of the technology. Instead, Guide effectively models both simple and complex validation guidelines and standards to provide rules that simulate each law department's unique approval processes.
