PHOENIX—January 24, 2006 —Demonstrating its commitment to offering law firms the best service possible, Omega today announced it has expanded its consulting practice to include data extraction in preparation for conversions to Omega Legal, an integrated financial and practice management software system. Leading the new conversion service will be new account manager John Frederick, founder of accounting and practice management provider OSD (Open Systems Design). In addition, long-time Omega account manager Mary M. Steele has transitioned to product manager, where she will provide industry guidance for product enhancements and operational consulting services to existing clients.

“We’re always looking for additional services to help our clients use Omega Legal to become even more efficient and profitable,” said Linda Brower, Omega’s vice president of administration. “John and Mary both bring significant expertise built from years of financial experience to best provide those services. We look forward to the great things they’ll help Omega, and our clients, accomplish.”

Frederick will also leverage his extensive accounting background in his work with reporting and third-party tools. Prior to joining Omega, Frederick formed OSD, which quickly became the most prominent solutions provider for CMS (now known as Aderant) OPEN accounting and practice management installations. OSD provided installation, data extraction, conversion, customization, training and support to CMS clients worldwide, as well as offering consulting services on other time, billing and accounting solutions such as Thomson Elite and Juris®.

Before founding OSD, Frederick was the key principal at Frederick & Associates, an IT provider of time & billing software and services. At its peak, more than 50 law firms throughout California and other western states used Frederick & Associates. Most recently, Frederick managed the implementations of ProLaw® for Advanced Legal Systems, a legal technology and consulting firm in Portland, Oregon.

“Omega has an excellent reputation in the market, and I was impressed with Omega Legal because it has the best combination of power without complexity,” Frederick said. “I’m excited to help grow the company’s consulting services in order to help law firms best take advantage of Omega Legal’s capabilities.”

Steele is a former CPA for 12 years with both public accounting and private industry experience, including professional services organizations. For two years, Steele owned and operated a computer accounting and tax consulting business for small retail and professional services organizations. She has spent the last seven years at Omega as a project manager, trainer, course developer and user group presenter.
