ADERANT Improves Matter Management Solution

The enhanced version of the application includes new functionality for milestone and task management, team management, and document management as well as tighter integration with ADERANT Expert Back Office, Powered by CMS.Net.Expert Matter Center is an advanced practice automation solution with next-generation case management capabilities. The solution contextually organizes information and activities—including contacts, tasks, documents, and more—around matters. Seamlessly embedded in Microsoft Office applications, it provides professionals with an intuitive environment that closely supports how they work.

Milestone and Task Management
Expert Matter Center includes new functionality that allows firms to easily create milestone plans that track the key stages, dates, tasks, and other actions for matters. Maintained by matter types, these milestone plans enable firms to standardize and automate departmental or practice group work processes, which minimizes risk and increases timekeeper productivity.
The practice automation solution also includes a new task management capability that helps professionals efficiently progress matters through milestone plans. Using firm, department, or user configured task flows, Expert Matter Center defines the various lifecycle stages within matter plans, such as the key actions, tasks, and documents that must be completed.
Management Oversight
Expert Matter Center has also been enhanced to improve management oversight and control by allowing practice group leaders to create and manage teams of timekeepers, including professionals and their assistants. The application allows practice group managers to assign tasks to individual professionals or distributed across an entire team. Additionally, Expert Matter Center’s Command Center and matter view functionality has been improved so practice group leaders can easily review a professional’s workload and status as well as reassign tasks to other team members.
Combined, these capabilities enable practice group leaders to maximize the productivity of their teams and minimize the risk of missing a critical deadline or overlooking a task.
Matter-Centric Document Management
Powerful document management functionality has also been added to Expert Matter Center. The application associates all documents with a matter and stores them in a central repository. Documents can be searched by clients, contacts, matters, as well as document descriptions, to, from, type, or date properties.
ADERANT’s practice automation application now includes advanced capabilities, such as revision management, document versioning, comparison, check in/check out, and more. Expert Matter Center can also be easily integrated with third-party document management systems for firm-wide storage.
Integration with ADERANT Expert Back Office
The enhanced version of Expert Matter Center also includes tighter integration with ADERANT Expert Back Office, Powered by CMS.Net. To better accommodate varying business practices, firms can now establish either Expert Matter Center or Expert Back Office as its application of record for creating, editing, and managing all client and matter data.
Various data elements are shared between Expert Matter Center and Expert Back Office, including:
- Client/matter names
- Client/matter codes
- Contacts
- Offices
- Departments
- Matter statuses
- Matter types
- Time entries
- Time action codes
- Currency codes
Additionally, firms can take advantage of Expert Matter Center’s rich customization capabilities to easily integrate other data elements.
Expert Matter Center’s increased integration also allows firms to easily incorporate ADERANT Expert’s browser-based applications directly into the application’s user interface.
